  • Where I met several restaurants focused on cooking with goat meat. Nice atmosphere and with an excellent structure.

  • The place formed with several quioskes and small restaurants specializing in goat meat and mutton.

  • I met the Bodódromo and chose for dinner the restaurant Roast Goat of Angelo, known as one of the best, if not the best local restaurant. But to my disappointment, I was missing the meat of the goat. Ate mutton in place, which was delicious. Great service, prices within normal range for a restaurant of this level. For those not familiar, I recommend that you insist on eating goat meat, in Bodódromo or somewhere else, because it is excellent, better than the lamb.

Where to stay in Petrolina

Much of Petrolina’s activity centers around the snaking Sao Francisco River, and the majority of the city’s hotels can be found here. These vary in quality but offer easy access to restaurants, bars, and stores as well as the city of Juazeiro, which sits just across the bridge. Those who want to enjoy the youthful buzz and affordable eateries that the University provides should look for accommodations near or on Dom Malan Square. Smaller guesthouses and bed and breakfasts tend to be less expensive but are generally tucked away in residential areas.
