  • It is a location with many restaurants and bars whose main menu is the goat. Some live music. Easy parking is available on site. Haven't seen much free, but is a landmark of the city.

  • I imagined something quite different. I was thinking something like a large Central Mercadão. However, the bodódromo is nothing more than a square with several restaurants specializing in beef and goat/sheep and only that. But the site worth a visit and tasting at one of his restaurants.

  • The Bododromo is indispensable for visiting some more of the local culture. Brings together several bars and restaurants specializing in serving dishes of goat. Worth the visit!

Where to stay in Petrolina

Much of Petrolina’s activity centers around the snaking Sao Francisco River, and the majority of the city’s hotels can be found here. These vary in quality but offer easy access to restaurants, bars, and stores as well as the city of Juazeiro, which sits just across the bridge. Those who want to enjoy the youthful buzz and affordable eateries that the University provides should look for accommodations near or on Dom Malan Square. Smaller guesthouses and bed and breakfasts tend to be less expensive but are generally tucked away in residential areas.
