Praia Vermelha, Penha

(3.8/5 based on 400+ reviews on the web)
The sand at Praia Vermelha contains ruby crystals, that reflect sunlight and give off a reddish hue when the sun goes down, hence the lovely name of the beach, the Red Beach. The beach is located in the neighborhood of Rio de Janeiro and between two hills, Urca and Babylon hills. The sea is calm but deep. At the beach, there are many historical monuments, two fortresses and a Chopin statue. See Praia Vermelha and all Penha has to offer by arranging your trip with our Penha vacation builder.

  • Very cute, is small but very complete, sold many things to eat as corn with butter, churros, ice cream of palette, water of coco, drinks with alcohol, different juices and water as a. There was also a post that rented a few surfboards used standing with an oar. There are positions that sold suits of bath and sarongs, the Lady to charge makes promotions by buy several things. It is a quiet and perfect beach for an afternoon. It can carry children without problem, the water not has much current.

  • A nice place for those who want peace. One of the few preserved beaches (thankfully) is worth visiting.

  • The place is nice, but too bad. There's only one small entrance and access just hampered. But the beach is beautiful.
