Where to stay in Itatiaia

Despite being the largest town in the area, Itatiaia offers relatively few places to stay. Your best bet is to look for accommodations in the town center, near Praça da Emancipação, where you'll find a few small hotels and inns. If you want to visit the national park, look for accommodations at the park's entrance, or even inside its boundaries, rather than in town. You can also find a much larger selection of accommodations in Penedo, just a few kilometers down the road.

  • I went with my wife. The waterfall is cool, but we've seen much more beautiful waterfalls. No exuberant. Worth knowing because if you're in Boulder will discover that in two days no longer has anything new to do.

  • Very good place, clean and easy to access (this is the first of the waterfalls when you get out of the way to the waterfalls Centre Penedo). It tends to get pretty crowded from 11 am-noon.

  • Awesome place with waterfalls, clean waters and easy access. The road goes along the River with waterfalls, so it is very easy to reach. It's clean and quiet to enjoy with the whole family. But don't let trash, saw glasses and bottles on the rocks. Let's preserve and collect what it took us to get out.
