Praca Coronel Pedro Osorio, Pelotas

4.4
All roads lead to Praca Coronel Pedro Osorio, at least in the heart of Pelotas they do. This is where you can feel the city vibrating with its energy and taste its history. Right in the middle of the square is the perfectly functioning fountain brought from France. The square is surrounded by historic mansions and gracious old buildings, including The Municipal Market, The Grand Hotel, City Hall, and The Municipal Library. Take a stroll around the square, relax under the shade provided by the bountiful trees, or maybe even catch one of the many events taking place outdoors. • The square is very beautiful, but extremely poorly cared for. Some monuments are system and there is a very strong smell of urine inside the square. Too bad for a site that carries so much history. Inside the square, there is a fountain in this Christmas period are a spectacle of lights and sounds.

  • A place for senatar-if rest and enjoy the passage of people. Various entertainments, especially during the Christmas holidays there are performed, for example dancing waters in a fountain that was brought from France in the heyday of the famous charqueadas. Normally trees are decorated and illuminated in this éoca, very nice to look at noi.

  • Beautiful, restored fountain which must be visited obligatorily. The square is good to walk but the night is not safe. In the Christmas period is wonderful with the decor.

  • A great place to play with the kids, take care of the pigeons, watch the fish and turtles, taking a material or even read a book in the morning on the weekends when the atmosphere is airy and no movement. On the other hand, also allows the practice of physical activities and intellectuals such as chess and checkers. I love this square in the center of pellets.

Where to stay in Pelotas

The Porto and Centro districts, just north of Canal de Sao Goncalo, represent the most popular places to stay for visitors to the city. Comfortable chain hotels sit on grand boulevards, while simpler, more humble offerings can be found on the districts' side streets, including hostels and pousadas (guesthouses). Heading east, motels along the Av. Adolfo Fetter provide good options for those wanting to explore the surrounding landscape, as well as the main urban areas. Still farther to the east, you'll find comfortable pousadas next to the lagoon's beach.
