A lovely walk by this square surrounded by beautiful buildings and old! Very reminiscent of Lisbon. Lack linda conservation central source, but it's worth checking out.

I'm surprised that some people say that the square is revitalized and that for some time here is much better. I saw that the square seemed to be going through some of the speeches, but I didn't feel any difference. Guess he's still badly lit, poorly cared for, and insecure.

The square is excellent, is very nice. Be full of young people in the afternoon. But this somewhat abandoned, makes missing paint at the source and at the monument to Osorio there is graffiti that ruin the place.

Every day I'm in this square, but unfortunately the population that frequents and makes use as work let dirty loca, garbage everywhere and basket's recyclables and organic, unfortunately there is no education and in the morning the square looks more like a garbage dump. Just plain sad.

Very pretty square, especially when it's well maintained and cared for. However, would attract more people if it had more security in place.

Where to stay in Pelotas

The Porto and Centro districts, just north of Canal de Sao Goncalo, represent the most popular places to stay for visitors to the city. Comfortable chain hotels sit on grand boulevards, while simpler, more humble offerings can be found on the districts' side streets, including hostels and pousadas (guesthouses). Heading east, motels along the Av. Adolfo Fetter provide good options for those wanting to explore the surrounding landscape, as well as the main urban areas. Still farther to the east, you'll find comfortable pousadas next to the lagoon's beach.
