Estrada Real, Paraty

3.5
#5 of 13 in Historic Sites in Paraty
Walk back in time as you follow Estrada Real, the paved road built by African slaves in the 18th Century to take gold and precious stones to ships bound for Portugal. It remains intact through Paraty’s incredible rainforest, and passionate “eco-historical” guides lead tours that immerse you in both nature and knowledge. While you have Paraty’s rich and colorful history explained to you, you also learn about the local flora and fauna. Stop to admire the wild raspberries and avocados your guide will find along the way. Towards the end of the gentle hike, you will stop at a beautiful waterfall run where you have a chance to swim and slide, before finishing the tour at a cachaça distillery that still makes Brazilian rum the traditional way. A taste of the finished product ensures you finish the day in high spirits. By using our Paraty itinerary planner, you can arrange your visit to Estrada Real and other attractions in Paraty.

Finally the Estrada Paraty-Cunha is and can communicate these two cities of SP and RJ. It is a very well built and with certain criteria path in safeguarding of typical fauna which is located within a national park. A very beautiful experience down to Paraty with calm and prudence. A way to enjoy

If I were to listen to the negative reviews, I had not taken this road: If you drive well, I went to Ubatuba drive, all accustomed to driving on steep roads have nothing to be afraid of. The part is bloquete, paulista is pretty good. The last few kms Rio de Janeiro State are a little asphalt maltratadinho, but is still best q waves Guarulhos city, for example. Has snippets that pass a car at a time and have 1 hour you are faced with a huge stone in the middle of the track, but you can come to Paraty without fear. Detail: it was night, raining and there was fog, I believe that with good weather and day must have a nice visual.

We had wanted to do the estrada real, and so decided to start in Parati, and go up to Ouro preto. Paraty, you get the passport of the estrada real (in Exchange for a non-perishable food) and with this Passport as we are doing the route goes one sealing. While you're passing through towns and cities, my 11-year-old daughter was so happy to stop to seal your Passport, (carimbar or passport), went from a maritime forest vegetation, mountain vegetation. Passed by the State of Rio, by São paulo and Minas gerais. I recommend 100% make this estrada, is cute, educational and makes children and large is excited about this adventure. Seek more information in the page of the estrada real, there going to give you all the advice and as struggling to process the passport and what cities for sealing.

Where to stay in Paraty

If you want close proximity to raucous summer nightlife and some of the best things to see in Paraty, look no further than the historical center. There you can choose from any number of guesthouses, inns, and boutique hotels, which integrate seamlessly into the town's colonial architecture. If beach access is your primary concern, cross the canal and head a few minutes north, until you arrive at the coastal neighborhood of Jabaquara, where you'll find a range of cozy options. Farther from the center, the hillside neighborhood of Pantanal offers something a bit quieter among the trees.
