  • We stayed on New Brasilia within the Island, with this, we rented bikes and we were pedaling until you reach the fortress. An addendum on the rent of bicycles (because it's worth it, haha): we rented our bikes on Pura Vida with Toni-the bike rack is next to the shop of cangas and like his wife, almost in the center of Nova Brasília, and he was very attentive to us. We had a problem with the belt of one of the bikes when we got back the fortress in a downpour, we called him, and he promptly went to our aid. Oh, plus a differential, the bikes comes with the baskets to put the bags and purses. Continuing on the visit the fortress. She's worth it just for the story-since we have several panels explaining about your construction, restoration and on the inhabitants, but the view of the sea from the main courtyard of the cannons is wonderful! When are you, do not forget to visit the "morro" with the View name of the whale (if not exactly that, is something with whale, haha), my friend, is very worthwhile, do not leave the "subidinha" get you down! A note that I deem important: do not know if the to enter the fortress through "front" because of the tide, however, if they are going up the side of the Fortress, the same can be a little difficult for the issue of accessibility, since you have to climb some rocks and then up a wooden ladder that's kinda deteriorated.

  • I've been twice in strong and I am in love with this place. Entering the fortress you passes through the cells formerly used for prisoners. At the top you see the guns and turrets. Be sure to climb the hill that leads to more guns and a spectacular view of the Bay.

  • Full of history and a beautiful view, the entry to the lookout's rise that has a sight not to be missed. The access can be done by boat to the beach of Fortaleza, or walk through trails across the island, or on the sidewalk by speedboat. Simply beautiful!
