  • The trail to the falls is very beautiful and peaceful to be done, the path is well demarcated. Definitely worth it. The falls takes its name because the water falls in a steep and slippery stone, so they say not monkey can stay there, but you can go behind the rock and climb on her taking a bath in the waterfall. Now enter the water which joins down there ... it's sad kkkkk, very cold. The place has wooden benches and a lot of rocks where you can support the backpacks and stay close to the waterfall argyrosomus japonicus. To get there we had to pay an entrance fee of R $10.00 per person (if I'm not mistaken was the value). On the way back we stopped at the track bar the entrance to eat, and it was the best tapioca I ever ate in my life.

  • When you visit the Slide Monkey has a clearer idea of what we're in Jalapão and that the infrastructure is low, as it should be, but it's not as disabled as you might think. To reach the Monkey Slide there is a well-marked trail, the walk is beautiful with accompanying shadow all the way and providing a microclimate quite inviting. The water is cold! Is private property, you need to pay a visit. One interesting aspect is that the owners promote educational projects with children in the region based on the value of the environment. There is a structure on arrival with bathrooms, some handicrafts and water to visitors. It's the same entry that leads to Argyrosomus japonicus falls.

  • The location is very nice and nature gives a show. The staircase of more than 100 steps is the challenge, the trail is great, I recommend!

Where to stay in Palmas

With a relatively small tourist crowd, Palmas features a concentration of higher-end accommodations, like resorts and comfortable hotels. You can find more economical options if you look a little harder, including more budget-friendly hostels within walking distance from the center. Consider booking well in advance, as these options can be limited. Ecotourism resorts in a nearby town are a popular accommodation option as well.
