Beach
Enjoy a sunny day at Praia do Maço, noted for calm waters and a narrow stretch of sand surrounded by a strip of lush green vegetation. This is the area’s largest and busiest beach, attracting local and visiting families with small children. These clean waters are ideal for swimming, fishing, and water sports. Nearby is a small fishing village, where you can have a meal of lightly roasted fish and a cold drink. The beach is situated between two hills, and along the sand you can find several large rock formations, which can be used as diving or sunbathing platforms. During the peak of the summer season, this beach becomes a cultural center of the area, hosting frequent musical concerts and sporting events. • I visited several times the Praia da Pinheira, the last time in January. It is beautiful, has two beaches: the beach of up and Down beach. Low Beach has fishing boats and you can buy fish fresh and clean in the morning; own a piece of calm waters ideal for children and another part with more open sea, wide and good for walking; village center with restaurants and shops, pharmacy and supermarket. Starting from the Lower Beach can make a light trail and get to the beach from above. The beach is beautiful, the busiest, many stalls and some seaside restaurants with live music. Recommend performing the Walk of the swallows from the right side of the top Beach, with a wonderful view of the whole Beach, very green, a little Bush and at the end the reward in a wonderful place full of giant rocks on the site can go fishing and take beautiful photos. Praia da Pinheira has boating, kayaking, and at night is lit up for hiking. Recommend.

  • Beach with beautiful landscapes, very green trails, people with Azorean tradition, market fresh fish on the beach of Low every day, but simple restaurants with wonderful food and well prepared. Fishing location, simple but with an infrastructure of Inns and cottages to rent very good.

  • First time I went to this beach and I loved the place. Has all infrastructure for the visitor, the only thing I did not like was the transport of Florianópolis, told me it was bus travel and was a common line, bus no legroom and the bags, I felt in a can of sardines. I don't recommend Paul Tur.
