  • Located in the old palace of the Governors, has samples of rocks and minerals from all over the world, are nine sectors: Mineralogy, Natural history, mining, metallurgy, physics, Astronomy, Electronics, Panteologia, topography, design and a rare books library, is good check before which requires industry to schedule visits and workshops. The Museum has the largest collection of meteorites from Brazil, is a paradise of information for students of all areas and connoisseurs in search of knowledge. Excellent service, well structured, dirt cheap $10.00 and better student age whole pay half $5.00.

  • Are several rooms where you can see from mineralogy to chemistry and physics. It's very well organized and takes up to 2 hours or more to see everything. For me it was the best museums I've visited.

  • Museum portrays the pioneering of mining and geological research in Brazil. In addition to pieces with the technologies used in the old days still has important mineral samples.

  • This was an interesting museum. I learned a lot about Ouro Preto's mining history, but the museum could be laid out a bit better.
  • Positively impressed. Excellent Museum, maintained by Ouro Preto Federal University - UFOP. Mining, Natural History and basic Science... Worth visiting. Attention to detail, lots of gems, scale models, history, culture and early engineering efforts from Brazilian, Portuguese, British and others that came to this city looking for gold and other gems. Would recommend hiring a tour guide or renting a device that narrates each one of the museum rooms. Approx 38 well done audio lessons guiding the visitor to the epoch and time of the early mining and culture.
  • Best in town
  • The collection is huge, but lacks useful information. Poor little useful infographics, outside those that are faded and illegible. The building, including, seems to suffer from the neglect of the public authorities.

  • Had greater contact with the mineralogy in little more than 1:00 in this museum that throughout the life of curious. The ride is very worthwhile, either alone, or with family. I could see from concepts of geology physical practice.
