  • The ecotourism structure of the Park is limited, but if you have the slightest notion on trails can face the ascent to the peak of the itacolomi. A well-marked and easy trail (7 km from the meek). The Park has direct access with Lavras novas (great mountain and racing asked to bike tours). Also has the Museum, lakes, children's area and a lot of green area protected! Worth the visit. I'm not sure if the restaurant is working on the weekends.

  • The trail to the peak of the Itacolomi has the first kilometers. Are several climbs in the dirt road, past the parking lot, and then the beginning of the trail, with many rocks and stairs. Are some 3 or 4 so, for more about 3 more light, and finally a steep climb. But the view is fantastic. In total the trail lasts a 4:00. Bring water and sunscreen, a snack, and pass protector before you begin.

  • Location literally stunning. For me, the most beautiful of Ouro Preto. The presentation of documents, information about the location gives us greater security. You can't go without a guide. Don't go if you don't have great physical condition. It's hard to walk. More or less the 5 6:00 round-trip. Appropriate clothing and shoes. Well take a staff. Very helpful. I didn't, but I helped myself to an umbrella as a cane. Don't go in the rain. Another unpleasant detail-mosquitoes or something like that. Take liters of repellents, English hat (the one with veil covering the face). Food and water in high quantity, will be missed. There's no where to buy. However it is worth. The scenery is breath-taking. Every new rise scenario presents itself. Nothing's the same. Mother nature was in a good mood when he hit her magic wand on this peak.
