Itacolomi state park, Ouro Preto

4.7
#3 of 6 in Parks in Ouro Preto
At Itacolomi state park, there are dozens of paths for those who enjoy trekking, while breathing in the fresh air. The Itacolimi peak is the highest point between Ouro Preto and Mariana, from which you will have beautiful views of twelve difference districts down below. It’s recommended to take the bus COOPEROURO, which will stop directly in the front of the entrance, and then start your hike up the 5.5 km (3.5 mi) ascent to the top.

Along the way, you will see springs, various viewpoints, Brazilian fauna, a breathtaking waterfall, and an open lake you can swim in. There is a restaurant you can dine at, but it’s advisable that you bring your own water and snacks for the hike. End your adventurous and active day with a visit to the Tea House. I was thinking of a trail and found another, quite different, which was nice. It's good to rely on the guidance of the park staff at the entrance and get to know the attractions of receptive, as the Home of the Bandeirantes and the tea factory, valid until For those who do not want to make the trek to the peak. For those who are not Black or gold Mariana are charged $5 to do the track demarcated by the Park. Me and two friends traveled at just over 2:00 because we took some photos, we contemplate the landscape. The back was made in 1:40. This time of year is suitable to climb the peak due to the firmer time and almost no rain, despite the cold wind at the top. It's nice to come up with appropriate clothing, bring water, a snack and enjoy. There are also other tracks that pass outside the receptive of the Park, but these are little degraded. I hope to get to know the other tracks.

Wonderful experience! I didn't believe I could do (fear of heights + lack of stamina), but I stood up and was show! of resistance, I'm better than I thought, and to the fear of heights, Ramon Garcia, the Guide, (a sweet and excellent chat) held my hand to get through the most difficult places. Seriously! Follows his contact: 31-9608-1075-Itacolomy Adventures As he is resident of Ouro Preto, born and bred climbing the peak, know many shortcuts that ease our life;) Also makes less radical rides. And the best, at least for me I travel without group, is that it makes people independent and even if you don't have a car. (We got the bus Park)

I've been and loved it. I wonder if it's been reopened and are operating normally in this month of June.
