  • MUSEUM OF SACRED ART - Rua Bispo Coutinho 726 opened in 1977, works in one of the first buildings in Olinda, intended by the founder of the city for the City Council. From 1676 when Olinda is elevated to the status of city building it became the Bishop's Palace and there was installed the first bishop of the new city. It underwent several adaptations throughout the 18TH and 19TH centuries to accommodate religious. During World War II he was military barracks. On the front you can see the Episcopal shield (former Palace of the bishops). It is a space for exhibition and study of sacred art with parts provided by the Archdiocese of Olinda and Recife, objects of worship, popular Saints, religious paintings.
