  • FORT OF SÃO FRANCISCO - Rua do sol built in century XVII (1630) and restored the 1781 is formerly known as the "Fort de Queijo" because of its small size along the walls of this bulwark had a lighthouse which functioned until the mid-20TH century. Until 1730 he served as coastal protection and in that year it was abandoned. Between 1973 and 1977 restored it is. Simple and rustic architecture, it has rectangular form similar to other colonial fortifications. Accessed by a bridge of irregular stones of 10 meters in length. There are two huts of guard on each side of the ramp. It currently has two cannons on granite base but originally had three.

  • Located on the beach of San Francisco, in the lower town of Olinda, this small building was erected in 1629 in order to aid in the defense against the invasion. Is, however, abandoned without any visitor information, which, in turn, runs serious risk of being robbed, given the total lack of structure offered. There is a delegation from across the street, where even parked the car, but, it seems, is disabled.

  • I was doing walking on the edge of Olinda when caught my attention the State the Fortim de São Francisco. Almost at the entrance to the city the site is completely abandoned, tarred, full, smelly horrible for being used probably as a public restroom, etc. I don't understand how a historical monument located in seaside, tourist can get to be in that situation. What should serve as attractive despite small, but with a beautiful story, leaves something to be desired and the question: where are the beautiful city authorities allowing this nonsense? Angry!!!!!
