  • Full of drug users and rundown. Needs more attention from City Hall. I didn't feel safe even during the day.

  • The site is simple but very nice and organized, in fact it is obligatory for those who want to climb the cable car.

  • The teleferico that has in the square is a must, the view from up there is wonderful, but the restaurant and cafeteria of the place are pretty weak. In the middle of the month off n ~ esavam working precariously. Lack infrastructure.

  • Most charming square of Freiburg. Many events happen there, including the famous feast of Sto. Antonio, who is patron of the chapel's in the background. It also has a source (source of the breath) and the teleferico. Unmissable tourist spot.

Where to stay in Nova Friburgo

As a popular tourist hotspot, Nova Friburgo boasts a wide range of boutique, midsize hotels in the city center, mainly clustered within a few blocks of the Bengalas River. These accommodations, just a short walk from the city's main streets, tend to be somewhat upscale, with onsite pools and gardens. Many feature architectural styles reminiscent of Swiss and German mountain chalets. In the hills south of the city, past Point de Saudade, you'll find more nature-oriented options and eco-lodges, which focus on comfort combined with a somewhat rustic feel. Plenty of "pousadas" also dot the area: traditional Brazilian guesthouses offering lower prices in exchange for fewer amenities.
