Where to stay in Nova Friburgo

As a popular tourist hotspot, Nova Friburgo boasts a wide range of boutique, midsize hotels in the city center, mainly clustered within a few blocks of the Bengalas River. These accommodations, just a short walk from the city's main streets, tend to be somewhat upscale, with onsite pools and gardens. Many feature architectural styles reminiscent of Swiss and German mountain chalets. In the hills south of the city, past Point de Saudade, you'll find more nature-oriented options and eco-lodges, which focus on comfort combined with a somewhat rustic feel. Plenty of "pousadas" also dot the area: traditional Brazilian guesthouses offering lower prices in exchange for fewer amenities.

  • A very calm place to stop and have a good cup of expresso and buy some products case in their "honey factory" There is also a museum which can be visited to see how the products are produced. Service ...  more »
  • As soon as I got here I got a positive energy of the place. Right off the bat has a small shop that sells things to eat and souvenirs. Has a little lake in front with carp. You have a good space to explore. There's a bridge, toy for the kids in the background. To enter and take a look at the dependency is for free, but to enter the Museum of honey is paid. The clerk informed me that the visitation to the Museum lasts from 40 minutes to 1 hour, and with a long script, I opted not to visit. Has Apiary, where you wear white clothes we've seen in movies, and go on to have contact with his own bees. Is a paid attraction, and the boy said that lasts around 1 hour and 20 minutes. Neither did this activity. But I recommend this visit. Access is by the Serra Terê-Fribourg and has plates indicating the location. Recommend a passadinha there!

  • A good stop for those who like Mel, good service and good products, complete with tasting of the honey and products like delicious gingerbread. The prices are medium to high. But even acceptable.
