  • With a thought-provoking story and insider's view, the fortress of Santa Cruz da Barra is one of the best in the State of Rio. The tour is very informative and the view of the surroundings is jaw-dropping (at one point we were faced with the Pão de Açúcar). Uniting history with beautiful landscape is a walk for any time of year, but on a clear day is a spectacle.

  • Excellent ride with the family, for knowledge of our history. Wonderful view of the Guanabara Bay.

  • The fortress itself is beautiful. For sure, one of the largest and most beautiful brazilian coast fortresses. In addition, built in the 16th century, has odd historical content, and even served in prison policy. And most importantly, stay in a beautiful place, at the entrance of Guanabara Bay, with spectacular views. You have to be careful that in summer becomes very hot, and this eṕoca should go early in the morning.

  • Very cool
  • Great ride, especially if you're on a sunny day. Guided tour every half hour. The entry in the fortress more guided tour costs 10.00 R$. Minors of 12 years and above 65 years old. Free parking. The view of the place draws more attention than the fortress itself. It is possible to go on site to take beautiful pictures without the need of entering the monument. The only downside is that in days of beach to get in place of car is a little tricky because of the cars parked along the way to the Fort.

  • Fortress under Army guard, but with Open House open to the public. The place is a beautiful lookout point for the gathering of the Guanabara Bay with the sea beyond view of the sugar loaf. You can also visit the historic headquarters of the army for affordable price.
