  • NÍSIA FLORESTA MUSEUM front Plaza Colonel José de Araújo, this museum is aimed at preserving and promoting the history and works of Nisia Floresta (1810-1885). Educator, writer, poet and journalist, is considered the pioneer of feminism in Brazil. He wrote books in defense of the rights of women, indigenous people and slaves. He was born in this place when it was called Papari and died in Normandy (France). In 1954, his remains were moved to the mausoleum that was built in this village, where they rest today. • The path that takes us to the Centre of Nisia Floresta is picturesque, well little town of interior, very nice to see the landscape. The Museum is very well taken care of and for me it was a surprise to know the history of this woman, who I didn't know. Well worth the visit.
