Join an informative free tour of Reis Magos Fortress, a medieval fortress built in 1598. Built to protect the city from possible foreign invaders, the site now serves as a local museum and a major tourist attraction. The fortress has retained its original five-point star shape, and still contains a chapel, cannons, and soldiers’ quarters. Also included on the site is the Marco de Touros, a marker stone placed there by the early Portuguese settlers. • On the corner of the Atlantic Ocean with the Potengi River, is built the Forte dos Reis Magos. Imposing building is a highlight in the landscape. To get there go to Praia do Forte. Park your car and for the catwalk, to reach the Fort. The route is more or less 500 meters on flat walkway. There you will take a tour through history. Is an attraction not to be missed.

  • Despite being an important point of the Christmas story and the Rio Grande do Norte, is almost abandoned and the restoration started by IPHAN's standing.

  • An amazing story behind the walls, I advise a search before the visit. Free entry, has guide but charge R$ 30.00 per family/small group, it's not worth it for those who sought respect before. With the exception of the cannons, and the chapel with the Magi and the Bulls, there's nothing historical parts or furniture, very scrapped. Many spaces occupied by officials to guard materials, besides of course, put a diner inside!!! Believe me.

  • The long push you walk down to get to the fort is pretty, it's a shame that all I heard was that it wasn't the safest thing to do. The security people said it was generally safe before 5 PM.
  • An ancient fortress, well maintained, located on a beatiful beach. The guided tour is interesting
  • Really good information about the place, the history still alive there. I liked really much!!
  • Nice touristic place
  • Beautiful place.
