Ponta Negra Beach, Natal
(3.8/5 based on 10,000+ reviews on the web)
Ponta Negra Beach, a lively beach dotted by numerous convenient tourist facilities, has long been a beloved hang-out spot for both locals and passing visitors. The sand is lined with huts, locally called "barracas," selling food and drinks to beachgoers throughout the day, with several staying open late into the night. You can swim, dive, and snorkel in these calm waters, or spend the day browsing the many nearby shops, bars, clubs, and restaurants. Located at the extreme southern end of the beach is the famous Morro do Careca (Bald Hill), a large dune and an iconic landmark of the city. To the north of the beach is the Via Costeira (Coastal Way), a long road connecting this site with several other popular beaches along the coast. • We went in the late afternoon to see the sunset, take a coconut water, but we came across a dirty Beach, strong odor of pee, thousands of sellers of food and insistent, no security, anyway, a place hardly care. A shame.

  • This was definitely one of the best beaches I've ever been to. Good for bathing, very neat and organized. The prices are good, without exploitation. Go to morro do careca, the best part of the beach. At low tide is like a swimming pool. Recommend hotel Aquaria to stay with the family. Good location, comfortable and offer a very good food for a good price.

  • The beach sand is every day less, but still worth a walk by your sidewalk or sand that remains. Has several restaurants that are worth the visit.
