  • The Câmara Cascudo Museum underwent a renovation in recent years and gained new spaces for its exhibitions and activities. The structure is excellent and houses interesting exhibits. In addition, on the back of the Museum does Science Park, which is also a great space for visitation. This year, the Museum has invested enough in actions aimed at closing the site public again. Open on Sundays, always varied. Free entry!

  • A good collection to the work and history of Mexico Santeiro. A room with replicas of skeletons, interesting for young people of school age. A room about machines. An underfunded Museum but with great potential. Free entry.

  • A visit to the Museum is always important. The exhibitions we visited were quite interesting, in particular the temporary, with pictures of the old prison of the city. But I missed to explore more the culture of our State. Before retirement was the reproduction of some houses and objects. Now there's a room dedicated to farms producing sugar and rum, but our State has many other riches to be exploited and exposed.

  • Traditional Museum of our city, recently underwent renovation, improving the rooms available. But points out that there are so few-even the bathrooms are more numerous. I missed the room that replicated the Brejuí mine, with demonstration of its mining activities in our State, but the unforgettable cave (and their bats) is still there, at least.

  • I returned to the Museum after 20 years Câmara Cascudo and I was surprised with the Organization, cleanliness and quality of the acquis. The place has parking, bathrooms were clean and were very well received and presented to the Museum. This time I was accompanying my wife and children (6 and 8 years old), who also loved the Saturday afternoon we spent there. The boys were delighted with the elephant and whale skeletons, in addition to the pieces of fossils that can be touched by visitors. They liked also the sugar cane was transformed into its derivatives in old mills in the State. Recommend a visit, especially with children.

Where to stay in Natal

Looking to enjoy the best beaches and soak up the holiday atmosphere, most visitors eschew the city center when it comes to accommodations in Natal. Instead, many look to the southern beachside neighborhood of Ponta Negra, which brims with tourist resorts and the accompanying bars, restaurants, and cafes. If you want to escape the tourist route and experience the city itself, you'll find plenty of options along the beachside boulevard of Av. Presidente Cafe Filho--a stone's throw from the beach and the city center. For something much quieter, surrounded by rolling dunes and clear waters, stay on the seafront next to Parque das Dunas.
