Forte beach, Natal

3.4
#15 of 26 in Beaches in Natal
Beach Nature / Park
Surrounded by coconut palm trees and overlooking the magnificent Atlantic Ocean, at Forte beach you can see large marine turtles, since it is an ecologically sensitive sea-turtle reserve (best time to see these turtles is from September to March when they lay eggs on the shore). It is a calm beach with crystal clear waters, and sparkling white sand. There are a lot of fish, that you may not even need a snorkel and mask to see them. You can explore the natural tide pools formed by the corals, or try the seafood at one of the stylish restaurants. Activities at this beach also include windsurfing, sailing, and scuba diving. The fort which gave the beach its name is no longer standing but you can take a tour of the 16th century Garcia D’Avila Castle ruins, located on a hilltop nearby. There are hiking and biking trails and a zip line. Make Forte beach a centerpiece of your Natal vacation itinerary, and find what else is worth visiting using our Natal trip itinerary maker.

Where to stay in Natal

Looking to enjoy the best beaches and soak up the holiday atmosphere, most visitors eschew the city center when it comes to accommodations in Natal. Instead, many look to the southern beachside neighborhood of Ponta Negra, which brims with tourist resorts and the accompanying bars, restaurants, and cafes. If you want to escape the tourist route and experience the city itself, you'll find plenty of options along the beachside boulevard of Av. Presidente Cafe Filho--a stone's throw from the beach and the city center. For something much quieter, surrounded by rolling dunes and clear waters, stay on the seafront next to Parque das Dunas.

  • There is a stone's barrier that stop the waves and create a natural swmming pool. The services in the beach are not good, because it is not a very touristic beach  more »
  • Due to existence of coral reefs forming natural pools there is excellent for small children. Go on dry tide. Has support of chairs and drinks. I don't recommend eating anything on the beach. Don't forget to take the Caicos popsicle sold by hawkers. I went during the week but I think weekend must be filled. Only one beggar appeared in the 3 hours we were there

  • is on the North Coast, is named pq is the Forte dos Reis Magos, a starting point for creating Christmas. A few tents on seaside, a few restaurants, that due to the beach be attended more to meet and see the sights. The great looking, is the Forte dos Reis Magos is a star shape with 5 tips and gets into the sea. access is by the bridge built to get to the location. The beach is very quiet, ideal for bathing, the landscape is beautiful, a lot of rocks of various sizes, sometimes appears natural pools, very quiet and beautiful scenery, recommend
