Nhundiaquara River, Morretes

(4.4/5 based on 500+ reviews on the web)
Currents run strong after it rains in the Sierra (mountain range), water rushes past riverside homes and restaurant terraces full of visitors awaiting their kayak tour. When the water is calm in Nhundiaquara River, you'll find visitors resting on the beach or taking advantage of the river's cold, pure water that flows from the mountains. Rent a kayak and paddle through forest overgrowth and colonial-style buildings that rest precariously over the sandbar's edge. Listen to your guide to avoid hazards on the water, so you can make it safely back to sample one of the many restaurants serving traditional food.  With our international travel planner, Morretes attractions like Nhundiaquara River can be center stage of your vacation plans, and you can find out about other attractions like it, unlike it, near it, and miles away.

  • The colonial houses, Palm trees and the Serra do mar in the background are the frame that beautifies the waters that come together in the mountains.

  • Quiet place, beautiful view and great restaurants! I went at Christmas time and the place was lit and the mild climate. Perfect for family or couple photos.

  • The place is nice to take photos, kayak and if you are quite excited, bathe in the icy waters and calm of the river. It's good for a walk along it, enjoying the breeze and the nuances of nature. It's not a place to visit, but for those who are passing through, it's worth the view.
