Formiga Waterfall, Mateiros

(440+ reviews on the web)
A small but powerful cascade with a clear, emerald plunge pool, Formiga Waterfall is an invigorating bathing spot. Dive into the warm, inviting pool and see the minnows darting through the bubbles, or enjoy a soothing massage from mother nature underneath the tumbling falls. Don't be put off by the name, Formiga Waterfall--or 'Ant Waterfall'--is named after the Formiga River, and not an infestation of insects. • An amazing place for those who enjoy nature! Great to use the Gopro because it is deep and very blue, leaving the photos under the water very beautiful! There is an on-site restaurant serving food for 35 reais per person (Eat the will), taking on average 1 hour to do lunch, that is, it's good to ask before descending to the falls.

  • Beautiful waterfall. Abundant and transparent waters forming a well with depth up to 3 m. Unfortunately the surroundings and access are hardly careful, despite the high price of admission (20.00 per person). The bar of the site is also very precarious.
