Mangue Seco Beach, Mangue Seco
(4.4/5 based on 700+ reviews on the web)
Small and charmingly rustic, the fishing village of Mangue Seco Beach lies at the tip of a peninsula formed by the Rio Real on one side, and the Atlantic Ocean on the other. Sandy trails connect a few scattered homes, locally-run guesthouses and restaurants, and a tiny, typical Brazilian church. To get from the village, on the river bank, to the ocean, you cross a vast expanse of tall, white sand dunes, perfect for dune buggies. The beach itself is wide and flat, and the warm shallows stretch out far into the sea. Despite the area's fame, its beaches having featured in a well-known telenovela, the extra effort required to access it keeps the tourist crowds at bay; it is easy, therefore, to find a stretch of beach all to yourself. • Mangue seco is a good place to relax. Access by ships is organized, with tabulated values. The city is still very simple, Sandy streets and few trade and restaurant options. On the beach there are options of stalls and buggy ride. At night there is early the restaurants close around 8:30 pm.

  • To get on the beach we had a buggy ride, which was very fun and cool. The beach is deserted with hot water and a huge strip of sand. Has small tents to eat and drink.
