Bosque da Ciencia, Manaus

4.1
#5 of 19 in Parks in Manaus
Zoo / Aquarium Nature / Park
Home to such strange and lovable creatures as the capybara and the manatee, Bosque da Ciencia is an intimate space for crowd-pleasing species. A small path through the park allows you to stroll where the capybaras, monkeys, and sloth bears roam free. Buy a bag of turtle food at one of the kiosks and look for your shelled friends at the pools. The pools are scattered throughout the park at different levels, so you’ll have to climb stairs to reach some of them. However, the major attraction of the park is the science museum, where you’ll find hands-on, family-friendly exhibits that make science fun for all ages. Access to the park is easiest by taxi. You’ll find them waiting in a line outside the park’s entrance, waiting for fares. Use our Manaus itinerary maker to add Bosque da Ciencia and other attractions to your Manaus vacation plans.

  • Interesting for tourists like me who are interested in knowing the nature of the region and will have no time to do something more complex like walks in the woods or by boat. The price was fair, 5 real. Animals such as Manatee and alligators-açu don't see always. Another curious thing, is a mini Museum where you have a piece of a 2, 5 m, Indian artifacts and the caboclos of the region. Some animals also stuffed. I really enjoyed seeing the woods of the region, huge trees, loose animals like monkeys, macaws and toucans region. Has a small shop-hollow in the Woods where they sell native handicrafts very interesting with great prices. 2 things I don't like: destampados waste where monkeys comes in once in a while moving and the alternative trail from the Lakes of alligators. This trail is a scam, because you walk the whole time with a wall on one side with communities that unfortunately play trash into the Woods. Another tip is that if you have children or elderly, the end of the forest is in a lower part, then on the way back, just got up. And if you're in summer I think it must be hard to go back.

  • Unfortunately, like everything in our country is going through a crisis. The trails are not as clean and the animals are far from the force of yore. The House of science, at least, is still well-preserved and with attentive staff.
