  • I was fortunate to attend a Sunday mass and baptism. The ceremony is very expressive, happy, and with typical white clothes Bahian. Beautiful moment.

  • Church of Na Sra of the Rosary the Homens Pretos the brotherhood of the Rosary is organized between the years 1828 or 1829 but the current church begins to be newly built to 1864. Predominates the neoclassical line but with a pediment with curved lines of Brazilian Baroque and the tympanum (interior of the pediment) has a window instead of a niche. The Tower on the right has a bulbous roof covered with tiles, Bell Tower and the characteristic cockerel in the Weathercock which protected the temple. The other Tower truncated, it seems unfinished. The external walls are coated with two types of tiles. Above the main door there are three windows at the height of the choir the interior is simple with altar in neo-Gothic style. It presents a striking surely from Portugal marble basin

Where to stay in Maceio

Accommodations in Maceio crowd around the city's eastern shorefront, competing for a spot in the morning sun. The best places to stay during your Maceio vacation are the neighborhoods of Ponta de Terra, Ponta Verde, and Jatiúca. You can find everything from free-spirited hostels to high-class hotels and beach resorts along the coastal strip, within a stone's throw of white sand beaches. To get off the beaten track, go west to the other edge of the city, where palm-lined Lagoa Mundaú brims with birdlife and local fishers looking for the day's catch among the mangroves.
