Historical and Geographical Institute is the second oldest of its kind in Brazil and has one of the most important collections in the country among the African culture. Founded in 1869, this building of ancient architecture houses incredibly valuable pieces including parts of sugar mills, furniture, documents, personal belongings of public personalities, Masonic relics of the first reign, ancient weapons, rare pottery, and a library with thousands of rare books. The feel of the place is rustic and you might even be able to catch a music recital or other performance.   • It's small and doesn't have large collection to visit but may be an option for those who are interested in the history of Alagoas and Brazil in Sunday morning's got piano concerts

  • The Instituto Histórico e Geográfico de Alagoas is the third founded in Brazil. Is a faithful guardian of one of the most important collections of Afro-Brazilian culture.

  • difficult to access, is on a street in the Center, if not go specifically to the Museum or notes that there is an only floor has some exhibits but not surprising much no is the best choice
