  • Has a great collection of the history of Maceió and northeastern Brazil. Age-old instruments the time has Dutch rule, fragments and objects from the period of slavery, indigenous culture, personal objects of public figures, etc. Anyway, it's really very interesting to discover a little more about our own history. Besides, low cost of entry, practically symbolic. I was thinking it might be a waste of time but really worth it. Only negatives were that part of the site was under construction, and there was a scandal from a gentleman who said local President, and was extremely pretentious by using a table at the entrance to hold a meeting with two officials and screaming to make complaints about them. When a visitor asked him to calm down, was arrogant with the same in the best style "I own all this here". Regrettable.

  • The Instituto Histórico e Geográfico de Alagoas is the third founded in Brazil. Is a faithful guardian of one of the most important collections of Afro-Brazilian culture.
