Categories: Landmarks, Tourist Spots
Inspirock Rating:
3.6/5 based on 600+ reviews on the web
Built next to the Milton Corrêa Stadium, Marco Zero Auto Peças marks the exact passage of the equator through Macapá. The 9 m (30 ft) monument consists of a rectangular obelisk with a circle through it near the top. At the equinox, the sun lines up perfectly in the circle and projects a ray of light along the imaginary line of the equator. • One of the few places where you can be in the northern hemisphere and South at the same time, the place has a symbolic monument, there are tourist guides as well. An interesting experiment is performed on this site: an egg can be standing (in equilibrium) alone, there is a physical explanation for this, the guides report.
