Sossego Waterfall, Lencois

(4.6/5 based on 400+ reviews on the web)
The rocky surroundings at Sossego Waterfall make for perfect sunning spots inbetween each bathing in the waterfall's pool. A two and half hour hike will get you there on your own, or hire a guide to lead you. Another advantage of a guide is the wealth of knowledge he or she will share with you during the hike. If you venture out alone, be careful on the rocky passages that lead to the falls. These can be tricky, but they are well worth the work when you see the splendor that awaits you at the end. • The path to reach the waterfall is challenging, but when we reach the waterfall we had our reward: a beautiful visual. It's worth it.

  • Sossego waterfall is one of the most beautiful places there. However, if you are not experienced in trail, be prepared to face some dangerous paths. I am afraid of highs but I was able to complete the...  more »
  • I think the best description for this tour would be "the refreshing relief exhaustion". PQ is a 7 km trail (note that one-way trip, huh) with rising land and large stones to achieve a freezing water that refreshes my soul. My important tips: 1 don't do that your first ride of the trip, or join another heavy track on the same day or the next day or even the year before, cuz if you don't have good fitness, even if already had in some distant past, you probably will be exhausted, or at least very tired. ... By her account I had no conditions to go up in smoke over the next day. 2-Go with a Bootie (those that look like tennis) with the sole good, because you're going to have to climb and jump large stones, and a good sole won't let you slip, and that's very important because it can double your time track or even you get hurt bad. 3-With or without Guide. Here's something important to discuss ... all in the chapada is expensive, and probably if you are not prepared to spend a lot-until pq just Bank of Brazil and box and when you have ...-each economy makes a difference ... BUT, this trail is divided into 3 parts, almost in that can get lost between them ... There is no "arrows" on the rocks indicating the path, but the day I went to had a group that was lost on them. Even when you get there everyone talks to you go behind tab, and there I saw on tv that a couple was lost the day before and had to ask for rescue helicopter. ANYWAY-if you do not want to spend with guide, recommend the application wikiloc (gps especially to trails), which led me to the waterfall, however, in the last part of the vc traverses the river bed, which are huge stones, and local guides have given me touches on what the best spots to go through them. Therefore, it is up to you. ... Not to mention that I needed extra battery for my phone does not download ... And always take snacks and water will have a point with a fontezinha you can get water, but will you lose?
