Mosquitos Waterfall, Lencois

4.8
One of the most beautiful waterfalls you will see in Parque Nacional da Chapada Diamantina, Mosquitos Waterfall has an impressive 50 m (164 ft) drop, surrounded by huge walls made of layers of ancient rock covered in lush vegetation. At its base, you can swim in the cool, dark pools or take a revitalizing shower under the falling water, and after climbing to the top, you can stand directly over the fall and look down for some amazing visuals. To reach Mosquitos Waterfall, you have to trek through the privately-owned Fazenda Os Impossíveis, and if you get hungry, the owner will prepare you some delicious food. Sharing the name given to the small diamonds that were found in the area, not the bothersome insects, while you probably won't see any of the precious stones, you might catch a glimpse of the king vultures that nest in the area. • Wonderful waterfall, where it is not possible to take a bath, but the beauty of the waterfall is impressive. After short track and easy, enter below the ice water is wonderful!

  • For those seeking a "shower" in waterfall is ideal, it is not possible to dive and swim, but this does not diminish the value of the tour. The Mosquito falls sits on a private farm and pays R $20 for access by car, the road is land with a few snippets of difficulty and slopes for low cars, but anything that makes the trip, soon comes to a viewpoint which gives the views of all the green area in the region and also for the waterfall between stone walls with the waterfall. The trail until you reach down in the waterfall is median, has some steep parts and that requires some physical exertion, especially on return where it will be going up, people with physical restrictions must be accompanied, but with patience and resilience " all "more than enough. It pays enough to walk because the beauty and energy emanating from there, it's refreshing to the spirit.

  • We went there we hardly had any expectation and had a great surprise. The trail is quite easy, I'd say 3/10 difficulty. We were lucky to be there after some rain so the river was fuller, which was goo...  more »

  • A memorable place. Wonderful waterfall. Nature in your most beautiful way. Access road of clay is pretty bad. Pay to enter and access is by a farm. Until the farm is to go with ordinary car, but the last 6 km after the farm are pretty bad and the ideal is to go with car high not to jam or damage the suspension. There's a staircase to access but it's pretty difficult if you do not have fitness. At the farm's restaurant.

  • The entrance is very expensive: R $20.00! But ends up paying off, the place is beautiful and sensational to enjoy nature! We were lying on the stones for a few moments, enjoying the vibe!
