  • Right on the street leading to this museum, we were stopped by two guys on a motorbike in the afternoon. Managed to escape unharmed but were really lucky it was this way. Armed robbery is so common th...  more »
  • I liked the historical context, but I can't help but quote QA guide didn't do the route explaining we had q go reading, the streets of stones or paving stone hinder access. A reform would be nice. The value well into account. The part of the parts where people enslaved was arrested leaving the visitor in awe and the Orishas is the prettiest. In general I think still worth it. 30 min drive from Aracaju and only 5 real input. NAOs if very to see in Laranjeiras in addition since the churches are closed, most.

  • I've been in Aracaju in the month of August/16, visited tb São Cristóvão (fourth oldest town of Brazil) and Laranjeiras. In this last, I went to the Afro Brazilian Museum. Has a limited acquis, however, well expanded with explanations of the guide that accompanies us during every visit. Emphasis on the religiosity, with the garments of Orixás and some original parts used in torture by the Lords of ingenuity. Worth the visit.

  • Small, free Museum. Shows instruments used to keep black slaves. Also has a section on the orishas. Quite interesting because it is not common to have museums that take care of these matters. Already at the museum guides that explain the themes.

  • Culturally priceless items. Downside to the young man who accompanied the tour: in addition to convey information that would be useful, moved on his cell phone the whole time!

  • Very valuable collection. But the guides unfortunately are unprepared and the building in need of reform.

  • Needs more care with the exhibits, preserving leaves something to be desired.
