  • The Church itself already reward your visit. common architecture, less powerful than the surroundings, is located on a small hill in the historic center of the city allowing a panoramic view of the lower part of the current city and the ages of the sugar cane. However, the attention is what is in the process of restoration by the Instituto do Patrimônio Histórico e Artístico Nacional (IPHAN)-unfortunately only coordinate by an architect, rather than in partnership with an archaeologist-so it's possible, in small groups, enter the workforce and meet the restoration processes.

  • Another beautiful church in Laranjeiras, however in full Sunday was closed, but still worth contemplating its architecture.

  • We went to rental car for Orange, is close to Aracaju, about 20 km. once in the main square we were told by a local resident that it was dangerous to make visits on foot to the churches because of the assaults. As the city was virtually deserted by tourists, we decided not to risk. It's a shame a city with so much wealth to be abandoned and turned over to the historical marginality. This ends up scaring away tourists.
