Cassino do Lago, Lambari

(3.3/5 based on 90+ reviews on the web)
Palace-like building in front of the lake is Cassino do Lago and tells the story of entrepreneurship, joys, and decay. The casino was envisioned as an ambitious project by an enigmatic city mayor Dr. Americo Werneck in 1909. Money wasn’t the problem, and construction of the European inspired building began. Pines were brought from Russia, tiles from France and Portugal, stones from Asia. The music hall featured crystal chandeliers, walls were filled with floral motifs, Chinese and Japanese designers gave the final touches in decoration. The casino opened its doors for one night only, and after that, due to an absurd political disagreement, the doors were never re-opened. Most of the furniture was removed and the building is not very well maintained these days, but is worth the walk down history lane and testament of the times. A lighthouse illuminates the lake in front and produces a stained glass effect of the casino. • Unfortunately the establishment is closed. Anyone who wants can try some photos. The outside of the building is closed is very beautiful with the reform. Will be a Museum, I want to go back to meet.

  • It's people I confess, the first time I had the opportunity to get to know the Casino inside, and it's been a long time, I was appalled by the wealth shown in its interior, living proof of an era of glamour, where tiles, chandeliers, furniture, and paintings completed the whole climate of the golden age, where thousands of people were going to have fun. The last time I was no longer could visit its interior have made some unrealistic claims, period. Yet a visit to this "Palace" is dignified by its architectural grandeur and linda vista that unfolds from there.

  • Lindissimo
  • Muito bonito.
  • Lindo, magnífico parece com um castelo. Pena que vive fechado. Mais é uma obra de arte !
