Santa Marta Lighthouse, Laguna

4.5
#1 of 25 in Things to do in Laguna
Lighthouse Tourist Spot
Experience the rustic nature of Santa Marta Lighthouse, a place that welcomes you with its warm embrace after you travel the desolate road to get there. Approachable either by car or bus from the center of Laguna, it comforts you with its pristine nature and surroundings. Swim in the clean, green waters or try a little surfing. The white lighthouse transports you right into all those movie scenes where such a structure lights the way home. • It is a beautiful fishing village, where the beach and the rocks make the scenery spectacular. The walk to the Lighthouse is made walking or rather, climbing hills. But the view is worthwhile, only blue sea is interrupted with fishing boats. We could not climb the lighthouse because it was closed, but we toured the Park. We noticed many people fishing, there are small roads by the rocks to gain access to spaces of fishing.

  • The view is beautiful! However the signage and access to the site is somewhat precarious ... but worth the visit.

  • Its major attractions are: the small beach (contaminated) and Farol, which contrary to what lei as opinion of other tourists, if they can be visit inside; This must be previously coordinated with the "two captaincy Portos de Laguna, (0055) 48 3644 0196 Tel EMails <secom@dlaguna.mar.mil.br>and <rezende@dlaguna.mar.mil.br>, and be prepared to climb a few steps." There encontrararn practically the history of Sta Marta, documented with photographs. A non-commissioned officer of the Brazilian Navy is responsible and who accompany on his tour visitors can be accessed from Laguna or entering Jaguaruna (BR 101), by Rod Camacho do Spa, from this place are only about 7 Kms, the last 2 kilometers are paved by order of the same residents of Santa Marta. Camacho bar if it has extensive beaches and the small town has infrastructure to stay a while on vacation, has very good sand dunes, which are ideal to travel with quads and buggies vehicles. Also supermarkets with everything needed houses of meals that I can recommend there are: Restorant do Lago, delights do Mar, San Duarte, Do-Do) (specialists in pizzas and burgers and way to Laguna "Pratos da Glória".) Its main attractions are the long beach summer and in winter, in addition to it, fishing craft of the "TAINHA", emblematic of Sta Catarina fish and very tasty. Bar do Camacho is an ideal place to rest, but if you want to alternate with other types of tours and shopping in Shoopings, Criciuma, Laguna and Tubarão are locations close to Jaguaruna known as "Cidade das Praias" which is the head of the municipality to which Barra do Camacho can be visited. I want to add that in the above-mentioned locations, especially Criciuma and Tubarão are almost all consecionarias cars circulating on the Mercosur, that if some readers want to make the trip by car (like I always do), there you will find everything you need, also perform services that wish to. I hope to be useful with am any other questions, I am entirely available to correspondents of "TRIPADVISOR".</rezende@dlaguna.mar.mil.br> </secom@dlaguna.mar.mil.br>

  • The lighthouse itself has so many attractions, despite being a beautiful building. But the place where it is installed is simply wonderful! Beach with crystal clear water and amazing look. It is worth visiting.

Where to stay in Laguna

The bulk of accommodations in Laguna can be found along the coast, meaning they are actually quite separate from the main attractions of the town. Choose from homely pousadas (guesthouses) set just back from the beach, and larger hotels offering rooms from the simple to the luxury, with sea views and various amenities available. Budget-conscious travelers will want to look further south on the peninsular for a few hostels hidden along the side streets.
