Is a must for the visitation Juazeiro. Place of devotion mainly visited by devotees from San Francisco, is a stunning architectural richness, with emphasis on the dome that sits on the altar, majestic. It's worth going to the cave has a spring under the statue of our Lady, which according to a brother of mine who was there with me, it is identical to the image that exists in Lourdes, in France. Nice to see, too, the animals, the day I was there, they were kittens, which circulate freely and without being disturbed, among the faithful during the celebration of the Holy Mass.

As well as all the great Basilica Church is beautiful and imposing, ensures the visitor a 2 hours or facies of visitation. On the outside she's prettier than inside, however the fact of being able to visit inland areas are attractive for visitors.

Beautiful church with an architecture with different colours inside! Inside the Basilica a part destined to belong in San Francisco and also your grave! Elusive place. Peace and all good!

Where to stay in Juazeiro do Norte

You'll find the greatest density of accommodations towards the northern end of Avenida Padre Cicero, with stand-alone hotels offering simple rooms, and smaller bed and breakfasts blending in with the squat commercial and residential buildings of the side streets. Head south from the city's main junction, along Avenida Leao Sampaio, and you'll see larger resort-style hotels making use of the space in this less densely populated area, as well as budget motels providing good options for those wanting easy car access to Sertao.
