Jericoacoara National Park, Jijoca de Jericoacoara
(4.9/5 based on 550+ reviews on the web)
Often cited by travel magazines as one of the most beautiful beaches in the world, Jericoacoara National Park consists of blue lagoons, calm seas, and huge dunes of fine gray sand. You can windsurf or sail here, or relax on the dunes of this virgin beach as the sun sinks slowly into the ocean. Be sure to make a short trip to Lagoa Azul, a stunning freshwater lagoon. This entire area was declared an Environmental Protection Zone in 1984, and it became a national park in 2002. Restrictions on building and development have helped keep the beach secluded and peaceful. The illumination of the streets is forbidden by local law, so street lights are still provided by the moon and the stars. • Typical of the North of the Brazilian Northeast, the vast territory lost under the soft white sand is beautiful to explore.

  • The lagoons are a paradise and the village the night it's really hot, walk in the sand, full of shops and bars very pleasant. One thing that few comment is about the difficulty of getting to Jericoacoara. It's nice to know that there is no road signposted and tarred. From Jijoca the path is through the dunes where it is extremely needed the help of a local guide. We had luck finding the mta Marquinhos in the kneecap of Jijoca. Super attentive, honest and helpful which share photo and contact for aid of all: 88 9904 8050. I might point out that it is not necessary to track car, we were in a rental and not 1.6 goal atolamos no time, just with the tips of my husband as chauffeur and guide. Super recommend!
