Farol do Serrote, Jericoacoara

(3.1/5 based on 190+ reviews on the web)
Step off the beaten track with a visit to Farol do Serrote, a lighthouse standing as the region’s symbol of remoteness and isolation from the world of screeching car horns and electronic billboards. Not just a remnant of the bygone days, this lighthouse is still in operation. Due to extreme shallowness of these waters, vessels often need careful guidance as they approach the shore. To preserve the area’s timeless quality, artificial street illumination is still forbidden by local law, which makes the lighthouse a necessary beacon of light for seafarers and villagers. You can stop by to watch the sunset from here, or stay late to see boats returning home after long days on the sea. • A site that I didn't even know because they said it was a dangerous place as being relatively clear in addition to report that the site needs many improvements.

  • The Lighthouse is the same of the Pedra Furada-but to go in the lighthouse if rises the Hill for the stone down. I was sad about the bad conservation of the lighthouse and your surroundings. the view from up there is beautiful-but that's about it. The Lighthouse is without any conservation and didn't even see him work. Note: the horse-drawn carriages take you to the foot of the Hill the rest of the route is the walk even because it is forbidden any other transportation there.
