  • Is a reasonable-sized Museum, if compared to the size of the city. Is installed in a House whose architecture is relatively older, making the building too attractive. In the first room on the right are the Aviator's effects João Ribeiro de Barros, a national hero who crossed the Atlantic aboard the Seaplane Jahu. In the room on the left is the Jauense Academy of letters with their respective chairs and also furniture belonging to the writer Maria Dezzone Pacheco Fernandes, author of the classic Sinhá Moça. Down the Hall, we see some coffee-related items, reflecting the first jauense economy. At the end of the corridor, a stuffed specimen of fish in Jaú. The Hall gives access to several rooms in which we find: indigenous culture items, stuffed animals, paintings for local artists, artifacts of the revolution of 32, depicting religious items to the Catholic Church, Hall with pictures of all the mayors of Jaú, among other random items. The Museum also houses the municipal library where it is possible to conduct research. The only caveat is with respect to direct cultural mediation that existed for at least two years ago consisting of musical performances and theater and now no longer exists, replaced by only some sporadic talks. At the time, visits to the Museum had increased considerably.
