A bridge which straddles the border between two countries, visiting Maua Bridge is a unique experience because of this. On one side, you have the Brazilian town of Jaguarão and on the other, you have the town of Rio Branco in Uruguay. Built between 1927 and 1930, it is architecturally interesting, retaining its structure and magnificence throughout the years. You can cross the bridge by foot taking in the beautiful scenery of the river. Enjoy delicious meat on the Uruguay side and peruse the free shops on the Brazilian side. Be sure to take photos in both countries! Make Maua Bridge part of your personalized Jaguarao itinerary using our Jaguarao vacation trip planner.

  • Barão de Mauá bridge, known as the bridge of Jaguarão, on the border of Rio Grande do Sul with Uruguay, is a beautiful piece of engineering that enchants all the cross or the sight from the banks of the river. Built in the 20TH century, 20 by two border countries, refers us to the beginning of the last century. Is, perhaps, the only road bridge and former national national historic landmark. Advise watching her imagining Bogard and Ingrid Bergman making the final scene of Casablanca in the middle of the bridge, the foggy environment, the wet floor. The imagination of us walk also when we cross walk on a sunny day.
