  • Nice for a walk after lunch, with its well preserved sources and across the cultural wealth of the former building of the carmo Church.

  • Beautiful square and well kept, nice to take pictures. The square has plenty of shops around. On weekends there's craft fair and pastel stalls, tapioca, etc.. Nice to sit down, talk with friends. Typical indoor environment.

  • Nice and quiet location, without many options. With many homeless, but a quiet location, close to restaurants

Where to stay in Itu

Much of Itu's accommodations lie in the city center, in the form of larger, upscale hotels that provide pools, fine dining, and plenty of the amenities you'd expect from well-known chains. While these tend to feature higher prices, they offer easy access to the attractions in the city center. Budget travelers should keep an eye out for smaller family-run guesthouses and hotels scattered around the historic core. To escape the bustle of the city center, consider staying in the surrounding countryside. Though you'll need some form of transportation to get to and fro, staying in the outskirts puts you close to some of the region's numerous plantation-style homes, many of which date back to the 18th century.
