Where to stay in Itu

Much of Itu's accommodations lie in the city center, in the form of larger, upscale hotels that provide pools, fine dining, and plenty of the amenities you'd expect from well-known chains. While these tend to feature higher prices, they offer easy access to the attractions in the city center. Budget travelers should keep an eye out for smaller family-run guesthouses and hotels scattered around the historic core. To escape the bustle of the city center, consider staying in the surrounding countryside. Though you'll need some form of transportation to get to and fro, staying in the outskirts puts you close to some of the region's numerous plantation-style homes, many of which date back to the 18th century.

  • The churches of Itu impressed me because I didn't have any expectation of finding something. It's not like walking into black gold, but the interior of the Church is very beautiful and worth the visit.

  • Linda
  • in the afternoon 5:00 we arrived .but it is closed
  • Perfect place for who seeks to energize, place with pure energies and rich history, founded by the Sisters of Chambéry in France, came to Brazil fleeing the French Revolution and were very well received by the paulista elite barons of great importance in Brazil, in the place you find a tree "hose" with more than 30 meters high and with over 160 years of age , your seed came from France planted by sister founder of the convent. Instead you find a church with stunning architecture, a mixture of Baroque and Rococo, unique architecture of São Paulo, at the time that Itu was pinnacle of elite.

  • Underwent a restoration in cover in 2016, but still with a strong smell of mildew. Worth the ride for those who like a little dark places.
