  • Square that was very beautiful in the old days, where they had fish pond, then pulled out the font remains the same, but don't play more the songs along with the lighting and the water that the game does ... but it's a nice place to spend a Sunday afternoon and get some ice cream.

  • A real journey into the past in this part of the city of Itu, which is considered to be the Black Gold. One of the most incredible points, in addition to the churches close, is the espaço cultural São Luiz Factory that, within other things, houses the bar lamp. Very well maintained.

  • ITU has an incredible historical value, which few know. It's worth hiring a local guide and see some more of the historic center that counts for a lot of the trajectory of the city!

Where to stay in Itu

Much of Itu's accommodations lie in the city center, in the form of larger, upscale hotels that provide pools, fine dining, and plenty of the amenities you'd expect from well-known chains. While these tend to feature higher prices, they offer easy access to the attractions in the city center. Budget travelers should keep an eye out for smaller family-run guesthouses and hotels scattered around the historic core. To escape the bustle of the city center, consider staying in the surrounding countryside. Though you'll need some form of transportation to get to and fro, staying in the outskirts puts you close to some of the region's numerous plantation-style homes, many of which date back to the 18th century.
