Where to stay in Itatiaia

Despite being the largest town in the area, Itatiaia offers relatively few places to stay. Your best bet is to look for accommodations in the town center, near Praça da Emancipação, where you'll find a few small hotels and inns. If you want to visit the national park, look for accommodations at the park's entrance, or even inside its boundaries, rather than in town. You can also find a much larger selection of accommodations in Penedo, just a few kilometers down the road.

  • Super well maintained Museum, with stuffed animals. For being a museum inside the forest, worth your visit after enjoying a waterfall in the National Park of Itaiaia, we went with the Nattrip Agency in Rio de Janeiro to the Park!
