Ilha do Guajiru, Itarema

(4.2/5 based on 75 reviews on the web)
Although it is called an island, Ilha do Guajiru is actually a lush peninsula, once used as a coconut plantation, and covered in Guajirú bushes--the sweet, red berries that give the area its name. The year-round sunshine that once attracted the coconut farmers, today attracts beach-goers and lovers of watersports. A long spit of sand, running parallel to the beach, creates a calm lagoon, which is perfect for kitesurfing, windsurfing, kayaking and swimming. On land, you can explore the green island by foot, cycle, or quad, or simply stretch out on the pristine, white sands. Make Ilha do Guajiru part of your personalized Itarema itinerary using our Itarema itinerary maker.

  • Top spot. Had a great time here. Exactly what we were looking for. Easy, calm and familiar. With Gabriele and Stella in the Col we welcoming hosts found do Vento. Best location of the pousada and enough space... ;-)

  • A barra do rio, connection with the sea providing a place of great beauty. Very good for kitesurfers. For others, it's not so cool because the terrain is a bit muddy, which leaves the bath a bit nasty. But it is worth knowing the beauty still ruled. Has a few simple but very nice hostels. All of gringos and geared to the kitesurfers.

  • Beautiful spot of kitesurfing! All the infrastructure there are dedicated and you can largely go your way if you're not practicing. For Kiters, only one small range of take-off in front of the pousada "via col vento" otherwise "sidewalk" to take off before the 7 beaufort poussadas and others with a concentration of Germans.
