Morro da Cruz, Itajai

4.4
#5 of 23 in Things to do in Itajai
Lookout Tourist Spot
Although not the highest point on the island of Santa Catarina, at 285 m (935 ft), Morro da Cruz (Hill of the Cross) is the most accessible and it provides an almost complete panorama of the entire island. Looking out from the platform by the cross for which the hill is named, you can see the two bays, the bridges Hercílio Luz, Colombo Salles, and Pedro Ivo Campos, the neighborhood Trindade, part of the east coast of Florianópolis, and, of course, the vast Atlantic Ocean, surrounding the island. Choose to start, finish, or center your holiday on a trip to Morro da Cruz by using our Itajai travel itinerary maker.

Where to stay in Itajai

In the city center, the area to the west of the mouth of the river offers the greatest selection of places to stay. Find hotels both basic and upmarket, catering to diverse tastes and budgets. You'll find a larger set of accommodations heading south along the coast. The town of Balneario Camboriu houses a broader selection than Itajai itself, with chain hotels, rental apartments, family-owned pousadas (guesthouses), and budget-friendly hostels.

  • Odd place to visit, in the question "see the city from above". Has restaurant and venue for events.

  • See is beautiful, you can see almost the entire city, the meeting of the River with the sea at night is dangerous, has only one reestaurante, the Secretary of tourism could invest more there, with a good place to get a cup of coffee, place for sale of souvenirs and even a stand for tourist information for the tourists if inform other places to meet.
