  • The disclosure that saw this place when I was in Itacaré had a higher expectation. Had lunch there on my way back from rafting the River, don't we stay long there. The food is reasonable.

  • I was hoping to meet "the chocolate factory" and I saw a lady with 3 machines. And not tasting right had. I thought false advertising the only cool thing of the trip was to meet the cocoa plantation and eat the fruit.

  • Alan is a Jack-of-all-trades, it has (almost) everything in his life of skater professional in Central Park to surfers on the beaches of Itacaré, he gets around everywhere, is improvising in turn bartender, Baker, garden designer, manufacturer of furniture art deco to chocolatier today, in his plantation of dream in the middle of the magic of the coast of the Dende jungle. The road to access is already worth the detour, 20 kilometres of a still intact language of bitumen unfolding like a carpet in the green canopy, literally giving sense to hover over this extraordinary unspoilt vegetation, one of the few that the variety will grow only in the shadow of big trees on the coast of Bahia, with the cocoa industry who wants to. Vila Rosa is without doubt the most ambitious project of Alan. Restore a remains colonial he bought in 2004 abandoned. And what a success. You feel immersed in the atmosphere of the rich fazeinderos of the golden age of cocoa, even though most of the details of the renovation have been reinvented by Alan in the spirit of what could be the place a hundred years ago. Fully refurbished with furniture designed and made by Alan in breeding those found on the spot (while taking some liberties), home bathes in an atmosphere of another era where he had to make good live. The gardens with their ponds and reservoirs, riddled with remarkable trees, fruit trees, exotic names, are also a delight. And the visit of the cocoa factory, after walk in the plantation, a moment of pure delight. One of the few places in the Brazil that does justice to the cocoa and its transformation into chocolate. All organic, of course, with this craft touch you love. Must spend at least one night in the place. Ave a little luck, you may even sleep in one of the two rooms of the period. The service is particularly attentive, nice kitchen and the place is teeming with friendly dogs. An address that is absolutely worth a visit.
