  • I've always heard Castro Alves square due to the Carnival that's why I was disappointed with the size of the square. It is very small and not worth the visit.

  • The square itself has no nothing too significant, but a statue carved in bronze of the poet Castro Alves, measuring 2.34 meters high and opened there as monument on day 6 July 1923. The square is well known because of the trios that pass through it at the time. And also we must not forget the beautiful sunset you have there, as well as the stunning views of the lower city, gleaming in the distance the Mercado Modelo, Elevador Lacerda and the Forte de São Marcelo, among other buildings and ancient monuments and historic. For this, it is worth to be visited.

  • Good for a late afternoon snack. The famous acarajé from Irene, the pastel of d. Gel, barbecued ... street food on the street. Children have fun and can relax.
