Where to stay in Ilheus

Thanks to the city's well-developed tourist infrastructure, you won't have any trouble finding accommodations in Ilheus. For a luxurious experience, stay in a resort or eco-lodge on the seashore, where you'll have easy beach access and a relaxed atmosphere. You can experience beach proximity at a fraction of the price by booking a private bungalow or beachside cabin. There's no better way to get a feel for the city's history, however, then by looking away from the center and staying on a cacao plantation in the nearby hills, where you'll be able to see how the "chocolate tree" is grown and harvested.

  • It was very nice but ir was holiday so I didn't find many stores opened. But I really liked the price because it wasn't expensive as many northwest cities that I have visited before.  more »
  • Located in the historic centre offers visitors the best in regional art. A very well structured, very clean, well distributed and varied, where you can buy the best of the craft and art of the region of Ilheus. Easy access by car or public transport. Open daily, free visitation. It also encontrram some spaces for power. Visit a must for those who wish to coinhecer some more of the local art.

  • Have items and souvenirs of various kinds, but there is little news. Many of the sights are not of proper manufacture and most things have focus for tourists. The food court is small and does not have investments to become more attractive. Although all the merchants are respectful and polite with all transiting in place, there is no ostensible security and is irritating to the insistence of the keepers to take money from people who park their cars.

  • Stay away from points of interest, streets are difficult to access, very few places to Park, some stores have very unique products, but most offer the same sights found in other tourist sites without local features. Plus point: good for cheap souvenirs.

  • Miscellaneous crafts items, many regional artists.

  • Site with some variety of crafts, but nothing exceptional. What I wish I had purchased was one of the sculptures, but unfortunately, things sold for exorbitant prices. Worth to buy homemade chocolate at a price much cheaper than the shops of historic centre.
