  • For the tourist who wants to buy some souvenirs (and what doesn't?) this place is a must. Several shops selling handicrafts of the region with varying prices. Next to the Bar Vesúvio (about 10 minutes walk).

  • The location is quite simple, for the trade in souvenirs of small value. The facilities are modest, but reasonable clean and well organized. Is there very little to no longer be seen in craft centres in other locations. I even just bought a handmade cachaça produced in the region. The little food court offers little comfort. The bathrooms are clean, you can use without scare.

  • Quite frequented by tourists who come to town on cruises and national flights, in addition to the municipalities. Offers a wide range of art produced in the region, such as: crafts, clothing, beverages and typical food, souvenir and the "famous" imported products of low value. Residents and visitors count too, with several public services on site.

  • Have items and souvenirs of various kinds, but there is little news. Many of the sights are not of proper manufacture and most things have focus for tourists. The food court is small and does not have investments to become more attractive. Although all the merchants are respectful and polite with all transiting in place, there is no ostensible security and is irritating to the insistence of the keepers to take money from people who park their cars.

  • It has many shops, but not so much variety. Explores little local art, but it is possible to find interesting things.

  • Need to improve the bathrooms

  • Stay away from points of interest, streets are difficult to access, very few places to Park, some stores have very unique products, but most offer the same sights found in other tourist sites without local features. Plus point: good for cheap souvenirs.

Where to stay in Ilheus

Thanks to the city's well-developed tourist infrastructure, you won't have any trouble finding accommodations in Ilheus. For a luxurious experience, stay in a resort or eco-lodge on the seashore, where you'll have easy beach access and a relaxed atmosphere. You can experience beach proximity at a fraction of the price by booking a private bungalow or beachside cabin. There's no better way to get a feel for the city's history, however, then by looking away from the center and staying on a cacao plantation in the nearby hills, where you'll be able to see how the "chocolate tree" is grown and harvested.
