This neoclassical style palace is a house where the writer Jorge Amado lived. Of special interest is the writer’s room in Casa de Cultura Jorge Amado, where the editions of his work, old photos and personal items are on display. Built by the writer’s father in 1928, the mansion occupies an area of 600 sq m (6458 sq ft), is five meters high, has antique floor tiles and English rosewood at the porch. In front of the house, you can take pictures a lookalike of the writer. • Did not go inside, just made nice photos with Jorge outside. We felt the price is high for family of 4 for what it offers.  more »
  • Very nice view of this writer's lifestyle so awesome and know a little of your intimacy. The garden is beautiful. Is well maintained and has amazing pieces, like the Orishas. Loved the tour.

  • I like mt of the Museum, it was actually the only thing that I liked in the historic center of ilhéus. What caught my attention was that the people who exhibit the Museum and tell the story of Jorge are teenagers, boys and girls entered there in that environment, getting an audience demanding of people who know the works of Jorge. Worth knowing, 5 real input in one piece.
