Where to stay in Ilhabela

With much of the island protected against overdevelopment, all but a handful of accommodations are found on the western coast of Ilhabela. There, upscale hotels with plenty of private grounds lie to the north or south of the main town. Look in the town itself for the main budget-friendly options, with characterful pousadas (guesthouses) the most popular option. The island can be pretty busy during peak seasons (especially summer, December to March), so booking ahead is essential. With the mainland so close, you can easily hop on the ferry back to Sao Sebastiao to sleep.

  • First of all, try not to leave garbage in the midst of nature, take only what is consuming, garbage bags, only fruits that can be dumped the remains in the wild. Preserve today to be tomorrow. The 3rd greatest peak of Ilhabela, the Piuco of Baepi, a basic-level track to the Middle, being all the time the first trial, and can find the paths with spiders webs closing the trail or near the road, and snakes, too, if you prevent, use at least the basic equipment, a good tennis, if possible a stick, insect repellent, water and some food. an average of 2:30 of ascent and descent, 1:30 by the most trained and can be made in 1:30 of ascent and descent 1:00.

  • The trail of Baepi's peak is located inside the Ilhabela State Park, being recommended to guide monitoring capability, mainly due to the physical effort required. The gap is strong, leaving virtually sea level and reaching 1048 meters above sea level. It is the third highest peak of the island. The look is too!! On one side of the serra do mar with your entire coast and on the other the green carpet of the Atlantic forest of the Park! Super recommend!

  • This path is ideal to appreciate the island from a very high point not is very difficult to climb it. It is preferable to not have rained a lot before.

  • We left the car in Morro da Cruz on the street she is wider, then that part is almost impossible to park. The trail is very well signposted, had few points of doubt were soon ironed seeing where the track is more marked. Has 5 interesting instructions totems throughout the track being a great time to learn about the region and breathe. The trail is pretty heavy (requires physical conditioning) but she's not dangerous (didn't notice many possibilities of falls). She is well structured with steps, handrails and even stairs. In the summer there are many incidences of snakes so I better go in winter. We saw an almost on the street, Morro da Cruz in the winter. The trail has no waterfalls and not sources for supply of water but the view up there is beautiful, seeing all the são sebastião channel and the gorgeous continent clipping in this region. Well worth
