Juliao Beach, Ilhabela

4.4
#3 of 52 in Outdoors in Ilhabela
After following a hidden trail, you will emerge from the dense forest onto Juliao Beach, a beautiful white sandy beach with clear, calm water studded with huge, semi-submerged rocks. Close to the shore, these form secluded pools in which you can fully unwind. Paddleboards and kayaks are available to rent on the beach, and you can explore the two small islets not far from the beach. As nesting ground for seabirds, access is prohibited but donning a snorkel, you can dive beneath the surface and see an amazing display of tropical fish, turtles, and rays. The friendly owners of Prainha do Julião make delicious seafood risotto that you can enjoy, listening to their eclectic selection of CDs. Amazing Beach! Super recommend to everyone!! Is the beach where there's the fish that are so close all, they eat in your hand. The bad news is that the site does not have parking facilities, has a small trail to the beach, but super cool. An important tip who is driving, can let in praia grande (parking) and walk to the beach of Jain, can be by road or sea (it's easier to beira mar). Don't forget to pass pq have enough repellent GNAT. Worth it!! I loved

Small beach, clean, with a great restaurant at the end of the beach, with tables and chairs on the beach too. I recommend arriving no later than 09:00 hours to get a table and chairs. Great service, great food and prices in the island.

Beautiful beach, very quiet, calm seas and clear. The beach does not have many stalls or kiosks, but towards the end of the beach has a very good restaurant, not so cheap but infrastructure, service and food very good, I think it's called prainha restaurant of Jain.

Where to stay in Ilhabela

With much of the island protected against overdevelopment, all but a handful of accommodations are found on the western coast of Ilhabela. There, upscale hotels with plenty of private grounds lie to the north or south of the main town. Look in the town itself for the main budget-friendly options, with characterful pousadas (guesthouses) the most popular option. The island can be pretty busy during peak seasons (especially summer, December to March), so booking ahead is essential. With the mainland so close, you can easily hop on the ferry back to Sao Sebastiao to sleep.
