Juliao Beach, Ilhabela

(4.4/5 based on 1,200+ reviews on the web)
After following a hidden trail, you will emerge from the dense forest onto Juliao Beach, a beautiful white sandy beach with clear, calm water studded with huge, semi-submerged rocks. Close to the shore, these form secluded pools in which you can fully unwind. Paddleboards and kayaks are available to rent on the beach, and you can explore the two small islets not far from the beach. As nesting ground for seabirds, access is prohibited but donning a snorkel, you can dive beneath the surface and see an amazing display of tropical fish, turtles, and rays. The friendly owners of Prainha do Julião make delicious seafood risotto that you can enjoy, listening to their eclectic selection of CDs. • Me and my wife go quite this beach. It was quiet, plenty of shade and very clean waters, with educated people, beautiful and with a great sense of civility. We were there in late January. The beach is small, has become crowded, with many stalls, and a lot of people totally clueless. Before, there was a bar there in one of the corners of the beach and another snack bar drinks there in the other corner, at the end of the descent of the access trail. The center of the beach was overrun by many sun loungers and even bed with canopy belonging to the Guaimbé Inn, DPNY style. We were 1 hour and we left disappointed. Became a subsidiary of Praia do Curral.

  • Really, this is the best beach in the South of the island. Small, but very hot, clean and without massive crowd. There's only one bar (very good!), an Inn, and another tip, a tent. There rooms for rent chairs and umbrellas, plus SUP boards and kayaks (the friendly and helpful Estevan). The view from the SS and channel Island ahead is privileged. Some of his regulars are so frequent that end up making friends with each other. Oh, when the parking lot of the Vincent is open, you can park the car almost in the sand. Not to be missed!
